Re: AirMirror set up can't find device

Hi!

I got Airmoirror running without problems yesterday. Today when I connect the phone, Airmorror is not working. USB debugging is enabled. Airdroid for the web asks for device authorization, and no device appears in the list when I click the button.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S8 with Android 7. PC with Windows 7.

I can't use the desktop client as i am on a corporate network...

Hi ,

Thank you for your feedback.

To make sure that we get the issue right, would you please help clarify that:

1) whether to open the "USB Debug" in developer mode
2) USB connection mode can not be charged only, need to switch to MTP
3) An authorization window appears on the phone that allows USB debugging to be authorized
4) the computer must be installed mobile phone corresponding to the drive in order to usb connection

Feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.

Best Regards,
Niki

Re: AirMirror set up can't find device

Here is the solution/work around at least for me and my NON-ROOTED Samsung S7. This is what worked for me below. The key is to use the PC-based client/application to initially authenticate the device, NOT the web application. After you do it once, it will work unless and until you reboot your phone--remaining bug for AD to solve.

1. Sign out and close out of any and all sessions (i.e. AirDroid Web, Local PC App, phone app, etc)
2. Restart your phone
3. Start AirDroid on your PC -- NOT the web app.
4. Select your Device (on left), then select the Air Mirror Icon (bottom right)

5. Make sure USB Debugging is ON (Settings>>Developer Options) -- AFTER authorization, you can turn this back off and it works fine.
6. Plug in USB and follow the instructions to authorize
7. Exit your PC AirDroid application
8. Unplug the USB
9. Restart your the AirDroid Phone App (do not restart your phone)
10. Now log into the WEB version of AirDroid (NOT the PC version)
11. Chose AirMirror and it will work

Notes: if you restart your phone, you will have to re-authorize the device using the PC Application again (unless you are rooted, I assume).
I also found that if I execute an AirMirror session while locally connected using the PC Application, it removes the authorization and you have to do the process all over again.

I'm sure AD will work out the bugs soon.
Hey Redge, nice work. I'm not even going to ask how you figured that out, but well done. So here's a follow up question, When sending messages through AirMirror, how can you use enter to send rather than having to use your mouse?

Thanks!

Re: AirMirror set up can't find device

If AirMirror can't find your device, it might be because you haven't installed the drivers for Android Debug Bridge (ADB) on your pc.
You can find and download it here: https://adb.clockworkmod.com/

Thank you,

It worked on my Samsung A5 2017!!!

Re: AirMirror set up can't find device

Hi, Would you please try to activate AirMirror on PC desktop client with USB debugging, and then try to start AirMirror on web.airdroid.com to see if it works?
This fixed my issues of Web Airdroid not able to AirMirror. Mwah! Thanks.

Kind regards,
Jim

Re: AirMirror set up can't find device

I am using a blu studio g, stock rooted, android 4.4.2
Airmirror is working fine with remote connection (signing in web.airdroid.com)

But when i enter the local network ip address, airmirror is not available. The phone and laptop are connected to the same wifi network, AGain, rooted. usb debugging enabled, mock locations enabled.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Camera works flawlessly. Everything works great on local, except for airmirror.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

Do you mean you use IP address to sign in?

If yes, lite mode do no have Airmirror feature so you can use Airmirror in it.

Feel free to let us know if you need further help.
