Cannot use SMS features on airdroid

I cannot use the SMS features with my phone on airdroid, I can use fil transfer, other app notifications but I do not receive SMS nor can I send them. Airdroid says cannot connect when I click on the SMS tab (picture attached below)
Windows 7 64bit
Phone is samsung galaxy S3

Right click on AirDroid icon > select open file location > logs and exception.

"The extension log is not allowed."
