Sending SMS fails without main window open

When I get a notification on my Win 10 desktop, I'll hit reply, type my response, hit send -- and, more often than not, get a send fail error. If I then open up AirDroid's main window, hit the SMS icon to get to that section, it will also most likely "fail to connect" until I hit retry, and then it will connect. After that, if I reply from the notification box, the message will go through.

Any way to fix this, so I can reply to SMS from the notification, without launching the main Airdroid window?
