Airmirror stops working at screen unlock

So far everything works fairly well except I cant unlock the screen.

I can swipe to activate the password screen but it darkens on my airmirror and nothing I do from my computer registers.

any way around it?

Do you mean when you use AirMirror the screen is black?

If you open the phone screen, is that AirMirror still black?
