One long SMS message today is split into 9 x 57 character, multiple messages fragments at arbitrary points and sent separately.
Windows 7 Airdroid Win client UI message sent via AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 KitKat on home LAN. It was one text message on Airdroid 3.04 client using Firefox 36.01 UI. Setup did it twice in a row (sigh). I should say that KitKat is recent update for S5 for AT&T (less than 1 month), and Firefox update is quite current.
Maybe sending the whole message at once is a Premium "feature"? Uhhhhhhh....and I'm sure that's what my recipient of 9 message fragments is saying
