Send via email issuequestion

I am trying to send some files using the "Send via email" option. I selected all my files, enter the email addresses, subject, and content, but when I click "send" nothing happens. There's a click sound, and a very brief loading icon but that's it. It did, eventually, ask me if I wanted to create a link but it appears it was doing it for each individual file. This seemed a bit unwieldy so I utilized drop box instead.

Does it not contain a compression utility?
