Problem Connecting to Access Point

So, I have a router with the IP address 192.168.0.1, and an access point with the IP 192.168.0.2 (same network). My android is assigned with the IP 192.168.0.4, and when I launch the application it tells me to connect through the port 8888. My problem is that I can only connect if my computer is connected to the router (0.1). If I connect to the access point (0.2) the airdroid wont open on Google Chrome.

Your computer's connection is wired? What IP address does it receive connected to the router or AP? With what device does the Android connect? Does the AP perhaps disallow connecting to other devices through some kind of isolation option?

Wired pc should be no problem. Kindly recheck if any router setting is affecting the connection between device and desktop.
