Files corrupt and unreadable when downloaded via airdroid

Downloading video and photo files via the airdroid web on linux mint (using google chrome web browser), all of them downloaded as not readable files (mp4 & jpg both faulty).

But all of these files are fine in themselves, they are readable on the device, and when auto-uploaded to google photos. Airdroid is doing something to them during the download that makes them unreadable and corrupt.

Same happens with audio recordings from ASR recorder, both ogg and mp4. Super weird.

Anyone have similar issues? Is this a linux thing?

ps: individual photos work ok, it's the zipping & unzipping that's going weird

----FIXED----

okay, sorted this thankyou.. it's the stupid Ark Archiver unzipping program on lInux mint, corrupting during the unzip process. Tried a different unzip program, and everything is fine.

In fact this worked much better than before on windows, but that's because i used to have an app that would shut down the wifi to save battery.
