Text message back up & restore

It would be a nice feature if we could download our text messages and also be able to back them up to a file and restore them to another phone or to the same phone if we had to reboot it.

This should be an easy implementation considering all SMS details are stored in one SQLite3 file.
If you know how to unix/ssh you could do it yourself basicly.


Messages are stored in: /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db
