then ...
Google Chrome's connection attempt to 192.168.42.129[/b] was rejected. The website may be down, or your network may not be properly configured.
and
Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
any firewall has been deactivated...

Also, if you go this route, is the computer now using the phone's data connection for internet?

Still same problem, even if migrated to CM11.
btw, tp21, I don't need wifi, I am trying to use usb tethering... I cannot use my company's wifi network with personal mobile phone, that's why I am trying usb

Woul like to see USB-connection-support due to security/wifi-vertificates/firewall reasons I can't connect via wifi at the office (tethring isnt an option neither)
