Airdroid Via Mobile Data Network 3G/4G

airdroid is requires you to use wifi which is rather annoying. id rather have airdroid running over 3G or 4G (im on verizon so it is LTE) and access it via the IP address my carrier assigns my phone which depending on the network is either a public ipv4 or public ipv6 address. is there any hack trick or way of doing that?

As it sounds like a good future upgrade but that might of worked in '95..But with today's standards of security it would be a headache...There is so much at risk if you were to do such. I Agree with everyone that it is a good idea but with all those damn hackers out there its a pain to keep everything secure...

Just my two cents!

I agree with @miniBill. Not until https support but a good idea. Not directly though. If the developers of AirDroid are willing, they should take a web service approach. With the desktop and phone never communicating directly but through AirDroid servers using Android's 2.2+ built-in Push-to-device support. It would be easier for them to update the client without having to force users to update the app on their phones.
