Scrolling with Airdroid on MacBook Pro Touchpad

I'm finding scrolling up and down on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone using Airdroid to be very challenging. I'm using a MacBook Pro touchpad to scroll. Would investing in an external mouse help to improve scrolling control?
