I like the notification circle but i always seem to accidentally move my mouse over it causing it to enlarge. Is there anyway to keep the notifications (or sounds at least) and get rid of the little circle?

Hi, right click the widget and select Hide the widget forever. You can find more info here: [Help & FAQ] Widget of AirDroid Windows
If you want to turn off the sound, go to Settings in AirDroid Win:
