Hi Robert, I don't know if this suggestion will help you like it did me, because with me, I never got an error, I just never saw my device in the list to select.
Anyway, I went into Developer Options > USB Configuration and changed to Audio Source... that did the trick for me.. It then detected my s7 edge and was able to select for the airmirror option. I hope this helps you and anyone else struggling with the S7...
