Remote control an Android tablet without ever connecting it to a PC/Mac?

I need to be able to remote control a couple of Android tablets (my Mum and Dad's) that they have in England and I am in the States. I can't connect those tablets to my Mac via USB for obvious reasons. Can I use AirMirror and AirDroid for that?

Also part of this question, I just download AirDroid to my own tablet so I could try this all out and I don't even see where AirMirror is - it's not showing up on the AirDroid main screen.
