I have to sign in to the desktop application ???question

So to use Airdroid to send a file from my Android phone to my desktop Windows 10 PC I have to "sign in" to the desktop application ? Why ?

I turn on my PC and can run Windows Explorer without having to supply an email address and a password. What am I not understanding here ?

Thank you for your feedback.

When you transfer a file from device to desktop you do not need to sign in to
the desktop Airdroid.

Unless you want to download them to your computer immediately, you can sign
in and download them.

Otherwise the file will valid in desktop Airdroid for 7 days.
