I recently started using the desktop app for AirDroid and I get notifications for practically everything except for my text messages. I am using the default messaging app for Android. The notifications sometimes go in and out and I can't figure out why. I don't have to be logged on to web.airdroid at the same time, do I?

You don't need to be logged on to AirDroid Web.
Do you mean the notifications of incoming SMS don't show up on the computer? Or they show up randomly?
