AirDroid can be accessed via USB tether.

1) The first step is to ensure that you have set a "Predefined passcode" (the first and second option in the settings menu of AirDroid.

2) You need to plug in your android and enable USB Tethering (you may need to download drivers to your computer to support this functionality)

3) open AirDroid
- There will be two web addresses under "Step 1" on the main AirDroid screen
- http://web.airdroid.com
- http://192.168.xx.xxx:xxxx

4) type the entire second address into the computer which you are USB Tethering with and the web browser should bring up an air droid with a password input box and a "Login" button
a) Enter your "Predefined passcode" and press login
- I have found no need to enable a secure connection
