Messages being split and notifications not being marked as read

After upgrading to 4.4.2 on Verizon samsung galaxy s4, two issues with AirDroid has occured. 152 character limit on messages before it splits them up into seperate messages and after I read a message on the web UI of AIrDroid, in the past, it would clear the notification on the phone. Now when I unlock the phone, i see a notification that i have 10+ unread SMS messages and I have to click each thread to view them to make the number on the badge icon go away.
Is this being worked on?

Coffee_Administrator has indicated that "On Android
4.4, Google has taken away the permissions on modifying the status of
SMS. The developers are not allowed to modify anymore." It would see that Google is now taking their plays from the Apple playbook ... rather than encouraging openness in the Android environment which has been a major draw card for Google, they have taken on the kind of arrogance that has historically impacted on Apple and constantly relegated Apple to constantly being second in the corporate world. Hopefully, they will see the errors of their ways and reclaim what has been great about Google and the Android environment ... if you get too big and cocky, you can fall harder.
