Operating Airdroid in background

Is there any way to keep Airdroid operating on the device in the background whilst using other applications?

Agreed. A way to keep it running would be great. I have it running in the foreground and the connection is reset seemingly every few minutes. Sometimes I'll unlock my phone and the notification is no longer showing AirDroid as running. A second after unlocking the notification comes back and I have to refresh the page to reconnect.
