messages fail to send

If I type a message and hit send, but unknown to me the the connection between phone and computer is lost (becuase the UI doesn't tell you) the message window just hangs as if it's still trying to send the message. So I lose my message and the UI doesn't allow me to select the text and copy it so i can restart the connection and send it. I have to try and remember what the contents of the message was and re-type the entire thing again!
Can the message be saved to drafts until it has been sent? failing that can I least be able to select the contents of the message so that I can paste it in again once the connection is restarted.

several months ago i was easily able to sign into my "airdroid" account (Scan QR Code does not work)). Now that you have changed things I can't sign in at all. Why didn't you leave well enough alone. What should I do?
