Storing transfered files to sdcard/external storage

I used to use nearby features or use web lite for file transfer between smartphone devices. When I send a file from one device to another, why the file goes into internal memory, how to get the file sent to sdcard or external storage? I using Xiaomi Redmi 3s, MMB29M. Please help.
