I'm a QA manager for an app developer and like many of my colleagues I'm
using AirDroid to manage many devices. Right now it's great for
acceleration but not automation. Here are the things that would be
helpful:
Allow us to change the so something such as the name of
the device. (Need a preference for a friendly name on the Android app)
Allow us to set wallpaper. I know this has been discussed elsewhere,
but in my scenario custom wallpaper would be a great help. Plus, when
using remote desktop, plainer wallpaper (i.e. a solid color) is faster.
Allow a headless login. Right now I'm using 1Password to authenticate, which ALMOST works wonderfully.
In my scenario security is not as important as the devices are pretty
much stock, but I'm happy to use it if I can set up whatever tokens or
keys are required in advance.
Add items to the desktop, such as a shortcut to a particular folder. (I
need this to delete app preferences but this is really useful in many
scenarios)
The ability to delete files (like my app preferences) through some Web
API. Uninstall, clear data, force quit, install apk would all be
incredibly useful for automation purposes
Screenshot without root (ADB, or for devices that already support this)
