AirDroid over VPN

Hi all,
I've searched and have found this asked a few times, but I couldn't necessarily find an answer for this:

Is it possible to have AirDroid enabled without USB or WiFi ? I have OpenVPN on my phone, so I can access it while roaming on 3G, and to have AirDroid enabled over the VPN would be awesome!
