Split SMS messages longer than 160 characters into two or more messages automatically.

I currently use the Samsung Galaxy S2, and whenever I send messages over 160 characters the phone converts it to a multimedia message and sends it. Since AirDroid doesn't support multimedia messaging, whenever I try to send messages over 160 characters it just sends gibberish. I know nothing about code, but it doesn't seem like it would be too challenging to detect long messages and split them up automatically.
